The Korea Hoguk Art Exhibition originated from the “Military Art Contest,” first held in 1977, and has since expanded into a nationwide art competition designed to foster communication between the Army and the public through art. Now in its 15th year, the exhibition continues to serve as a meaningful platform where patriotism and art come together.

This year’s Grand Prize was awarded to Mr. Seung-Ryong Lee of the Army Cadet Military School for his photographic work Traces of the Wildfire, which vividly captures the dedication of soldiers engaged in wildfire suppression, symbolizing the Army’s spirit of standing together with the people.

In addition to the Grand Prize, the exhibition presents outstanding works from various categories, including painting, calligraphy, and modern lettering, each expressing the meaning of “patriotism” through unique artistic perspectives.

Beginning at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul, the traveling exhibition continues to the United Nations Peace Memorial, the National Museum of Chuncheon, and the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan, providing a shared space for citizens and soldiers to reflect on the value of national defense and devotion.
