The Korean Army has been conducting a patriotic art competition and exhibition called the "Korea Hoguk Art Exhibition" since 2011 to promote a sense of love for the country through art and provide a platform for communication with the public. This event, initially aimed at soldiers and military personnel, has expanded to include the general public. As the years have passed, it has gained increasing national attention and has evolved into a prestigious art competition representing the art world in terms of the quantity and quality of artworks.

In 2023, a total of over 1,300 artworks were submitted in six categories (painting, design, photography, sculpture, calligraphy, and literary art/calligraphy). After two rounds of judging, 220 works were selected as winning pieces. Despite the limited themes of patriotism and national security, many of the award-winning works demonstrated creativity. It is hoped that the exhibition at the United Nations Peace Memorial Hall, showcasing these outstanding works, will contribute to fostering a sense of patriotism and national security consciousness through the medium of art.
