The UN Peace Orchestra (UNPO) is a civilian peace envoy dedicated to sharing the hope of world peace and enhancing the cultural standing of the Republic of Korea through the beauty of its arts and culture. Honoring the noble sacrifices of the United Nations forces, the UNPO conveys the UN’s core ideals of peace and freedom through music to the Korean people and to global audiences.

Through ensemble-based activities, the orchestra provides young members with opportunities to cultivate artistic excellence and sensitivity while learning the values of sacrifice, consideration, and a sense of belonging that emerge from making music together.

The UNPO plans and operates instrument-based music programs as a form of talent donation, responding to the cultural and artistic needs of local communities. Through systematic instruction by professional artists, the orchestra strengthens the musical capacities of future generations and nurtures young musicians as peace envoys who carry the message of harmony through music.
