> A Special Exhibition on the 70th Anniversary of the Korean War

The year of 2020 marks the 70th anniversary of the Korean War. The scars and lessons of wars may fade away in time, but the sacrifices of those who had dedicated their lives for the safekeeping of our peaceful times will never stop to shine. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, the Ministry of Defense has prepared a special moving exhibition that will be paying you a visit soon enough. During this exhibition, we wish to call out the names, ranks and divisions of the veterans who have sacrificed their lives during the Korean War for the safekeeping of this nation and our neighbors. Here, we have managed to locate the many soldiers of the Korean Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines as well as the veterans of the UN Allied Nations who had fought at the very frontline of combat, as well as many others who have not been acknowledged for their noble deeds for a very long period of time.

We have put a great deal of effort in trying to deliver all of the actual facts and inspiration of the time of the Korean War through the content of this exhibition. The included content was written based on thorough referencing of official historical documents provided by the Ministry of Defense, each headquarters, related organizations located overseas and, in order to allow you to more vividly relive the time of the Korean War, we have excavated a wide selection of photos that have not yet been disclosed to the public. Remembering the names of our heroic veterans is like acknowledging and understanding the peace and prosperity of our current lives, which have sprouted and bloomed from the seed of life and devotion that the veterans have left behind them. Having the strength and courage to build a future without war is one of the best ways to pay our respect and gratitude for the heroes who had bravely sacrificed their lives for the well-being and peaceful lives of their future generations. Hoping that the stories told in this exhibition will contribute even a small portion to their dedication, we humbly express our respect and gratitude to all of the noble veterans of the Korean War.
