General Matthew B. Ridgway protected the Republic of Korea through his strong leadership and strategies. After the 2nd aggressive attack of the Chinese Communist Forces, just when the morale of the UN Forces hit rock bottom, General Ridgway was appointed as the 8th U.S. Army commander. Having recognized the invincibility of the human-wave strategy of the Chinese Communist Forces, General Ridgway marks his first victory against the Chinese Communist Forces as he directly leads his soldiers to combat during the Battle of Jipyung-ri using Operation Thunderbolt. Through this exhibition, we wish to present the remarkable accomplishments and actions of General Ridgway.
